About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an innovative laboratory technician to support the daily operations of the College Science department. This position is suited to technicians who have a passion for all things Science, an in-depth knowledge of laboratory and experiment procedures, and who can demonstrate practical lab experience.
Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
- Use of laboratory instruments and equipment without supervision
- A broad range of Laboratory skills including knowledge of chemical reactions, sterilization, storage of chemicals and specimens in compliance with GHS systems equipment calibration
- Safe handling of chemicals
- Accurate and precise measurements of chemicals using appropriate equipment
- Experience with computers, and competent in a range of computing skills including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Organisational and time management skills
- Administration skills
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Database skills - eg stock take asset register
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent
- Current Blue card, or able to obtain
- First Aid Certificate, or able to obtain
